Budapest City Guide: Vibrant Nightlife and Gorgeous Girls
The capital of Hungary, Budapest is well-known for its vibrant history, amazing architecture, delicious cuisine, thermal baths, and of course beautiful girls. The city consists of two main parts, Buda that is a historical district and has many parks and castles, and Pest where you can go out in the evening and meet some gorgeous girls.
People in Budapest are considered to be very friendly, open-minded, and most of them like to go out and party over the weekends.
Therefore, it is quite easy to meet new people, chat up girls, and have a good time while visiting.
Keep in mind that some of the locals don’t speak good English, but this has changed over the years and the new generations are beginning to learn the English language, and it’s a lot easier to communicate with people than it was 20 years ago.
The city has a vibrant nightlife and is full of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants.
The good news is that the prices for drinks, accommodation, and food are budget-friendly, especially if you are coming from Western countries where the living standard is much higher than in Hungary.
One drink in a bar will cost you around 3 euros while dinner at the restaurant can be around 10-20 euro per person. Here is a list of bars and clubs in the city that are popular among young people.
I like Ötkert. It is one of the most popular clubs in the city at the moment and is usually packed even on weekdays.
There is a line of people waiting at the entrance to get in on the weekends, so make sure to come on time and avoid the crowds. They host many DJ-s and touring bands and the place is always full of nice looking girls who are looking to have some fun.
The interior consists of vintage signage, contemporary art, and a bar that has an extensive cocktail list.
The music is loud, basically, everyone is dancing, and it’s such great place to go wild on a Saturday evening.
The crowd consists of locals, as well as tourists since the club is quite famous and listed as one of the best places in the city. It’s also a good place to come during the day for coffee or a snack.
They serve delicious cheese salads and of course one of the Hungarian most popular signature dishes, the mighty goulash soup.
One of my favorite places to have a drink in Budapest, Mazel Tov consists of a large open space with industrial piping, a large entrance door, an open kitchen, and a tiled bar.
Guests are usually welcomed with a cup of tea and the place serves traditional specialties and International dishes like labane, tahini, shawarma, and labale.
They also have a nice selection of cocktails including Miami Heat, Margaritas, Negronis, and Bakerman. Make sure to try the local Palinka, it is considered to be the signature drink of the bar.
Located on the Buda side in the 11th district, Club Play features 2 dance floors from which one is reserved for RnB music, while the other one plays hip-hop and pop tunes.
You will probably get a chance to meet a lot of cute girls here, since the club is quite large and all of the people are usually dancing and there is a lot of drinking going on.
Some even call it Ibiza in Budapest because of the music and constant partying that goes on here.
Keep in mind that waiting outside the venue is common at this place, but eventually, everyone gets inside in the end. Drinks are a bit overpriced, but this is the price you have to pay for being inside one of the hottest clubs in the city.
If you are looking for a club to party in summer, Fogas Ház is definitely a place to be. The name of the club translates into “The Tooth House”, that was also the name of the dental laboratory from the fifties that was situated on the same spot.
Fogas Ház has a large courtyard and hosts crazy parties, usually packed with hot chicks over the weekends.
What I liked about this places that the parties start late and last until early in the morning. Drinks are quite affordable and range from local beers and wines to cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.
Girls in Budapest are quite attractive and easy to talk to. Some of them are traditional, while others have more liberal views.
The best place to approach chicks in the city is probably at a bar or inside of a nightclub over the weekends.
Remember that some girls from Hungary don’t speak much English, which can be a bit of a letdown for expats and travelers, but after walking up to 2 or 3 girls, one of them is bound to have some basic communication skills in English.
Here are a couple of things you should know when hanging out with a girl from Budapest. These are not strict rules, just general guidelines.
Always keep the girl on the right-hand side
This tradition comes from the old days when a man here carried swords and other types of weapons. In case they needed to use some of these sharp objects, they were usually worn on the left side, and of course, if the lady is on their left, there is a chance she gets hurt. Obviously, these times have come to an end, but it is still a part of the tradition.
How to impress a girl from Budapest
Carry a lighter even if you are not a smoker and light her cigarette. On the first date, make sure to get her something, it shows that you care for her. It can be something small, but will definitely make her feel special. Girls from Hungary love guys with good manners.
Dating in Budapest
It is easy to date in Budapest.
There are many expats from Western countries who are living in working in Hungary and dating local chicks.
Of course, there are many romantic spots in the city where you can take out a girl on a date. For example, Vintage Garden is a perfect place to take out a girl on a first date. Its stylish interior design that has a bit of a French vibe and the cozy atmosphere inside this place will definitely show the girl that you have taste in selecting the right spot for your first date.
Csendes Társ Winebar & Garden is also one of those places that are perfect to meet with a local chick.
The selection of wine here is amazing; a candle is lit in the evenings, and laid back music from the background creates a romantic atmosphere.
My favorite bar for dates is Le Petit Bistrot, a romantic bar with live jazz music performances and giant apple pancakes with vanilla ice cream.
Neighborhoods and Places to Stay in Budapest
Budapest is split into districts. Each one offers something different and has its own story to tell.
There is Castle District that is home to the Royal Palace, while Leopold Town houses the parliament, banks, courthouses, and a number of government ministries.
If you are staying in Budapest, it is best to find accommodation somewhere in the center of the city in Terézváros or Belvaros.
There are plenty of hotels to choose from and also a number of private accommodations and hostels.
Airbnb is quite popular in Budapest among young people, so that could also be an option. Hostels and private accommodation range from 10 to 30 Euros per night, while hotels will charge between 50 and 100 Euros.
